New Moon Knowing:  Metaphysical Discussion Panels

Alternative Health – Monday, April 16th at 6:30 pm

“Let food be thy medicine.” –Hippocrates

Will we one day look back on today’s “modern medicine” with the same incredulity with which we view medieval practices?

Alternative medicine, as we call it today, was once mainstream.  Now, we have access to age-old home remedies, energy healing, Ayurveda, and more in the palm of our hands.  We Google-diagnose ourselves and do our best to navigate the often contrary information we find.

Join Doctor Loren Allard, Reiki Master Brittany Dube, Ayurvedic Health Practitioner Katie O’Connell, and Registered Nurse/Reflexologist Linda Isabelle for a panel discussion aimed at clarifying the wellspring of alternative health.  We’ll talk about causes and cures of ailments both common and unusual, regular wellness maintenance, the difference between drugs and their alternatives, and more.

“What drains your spirit drains your body.  What fuels your spirit fuels your body.” – Caroline Myss, Anatomy of the Spirit

Bring us your questions and we’ll offer our unique and well-researched perspectives.  Your health is in your hands! Let’s uncover the path to wellness together.

Magical Yoga is hosting this New Moon Knowing Discussion Panel on Alternative Health on Monday, April 16th at 6:30pm in the downtown Wolfeboro studio.  All ages are welcome.  Tickets are $15 by clicking “Buy Now” below, or may be available at the door.  Pre-registration is appreciated.

Ayurvedic Heath Practitioner, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, and Yoga Teacher

Katie’s interest and experience in Ayurveda began over 40 years ago as a young child in the arms of her mother who often administered teas, tinctures, natural remedies, and energy work to cure or soothe common maladies. Her family valued home-grown veggies and dinners created together in a farmhouse kitchen full of healthy food and made from scratch. Ailments were discussed around the table with herbal remedy books opened wide, and essential oils were always at arm’s length ready to use for cuts, headaches, or a sour stomach. By the time she got to high school, Katie’s mother was making lip balms, body oils, face creams, and tinctures at home, often with flowers or herbs grown just outside the door. Many years steeped in this wholesome environment led Katie to her current role as a full-time yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Health Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner, and wellness & yoga retreat leader.

Katie is a fun-loving yogi known for singing and jamming with her musical friends, her love of cooking, gardening, and snuggling with her three kitty cats, two kids, husband Declan, and of course, practicing YOGA! She can be found doing yoga in the mountain forest, on a rock, on a paddle board, in a river, in snowshoes, on the beach… anywhere! Katie has always been fascinated by dragonflies–their ability to transform, catch the wind, maneuver spirals and water dips with such grace, always shining iridescent in the sunlight, thus they have become our studio symbol. Offering yoga retreats at Dragonfly Yoga and around the world has become a passion!

Katie teaches daily yoga classes, offers Ayurveda & Yoga consultations and classes, private Thai Yoga bodywork, Yoga Mentoring, YTT, Ayurvedic Indian Cooking classes, and Reiki appointments in front of the sun-filled windows facing the peaceful hemlock forest here at Dragonfly Yoga Barn.

Katie is an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner and graduate of New World Ayurveda and Dr. Paul Dugliss, MD, one of only four schools certified by AAPNA, the Association of Ayurvedic Practitioners of North America.  She is also certified as an Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist (sometimes called Ayurveda Yoga Specialist)  by the California College of Ayurveda (AAPNA & NAMA) and trained by Sri Devi Marisa Laursen and Dr. Shiva Marc Halpern with whom she also studied the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra.  Katie currently offers full Ayurveda consultations including pulse diagnosis, private and group Ayurveda classes, principles of Ayurveda workshops, Dosha-specific yoga classes, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, Thai Yoga bodywork, Yoga Teacher Trainings that incorporate Ayurveda, and Yoga & Ayurveda retreats at Dragonfly Yoga Barn in North Sandwich, NH, India, and Central America.

Brittany Dube, RYT, Reiki Master

Magic is real, and it’s everything. Einstein said, “everything is energy;” what if magic is energy? Or, rather, what if “magic” is the way that energy interacts with itself, and our intrinsic ability to influence these interactions?

This is the foundation of Brittany’s philosophy and the basis of her whimsical, intelligent, and spiritual teaching style.

In addition to owning Magical Yoga studio in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Brittany Boles is an intuitive, yoga teacher, reiki master, author, and inspirational speaker who has been leading groups and mentoring individuals since 2012.

Her message to the world is clear: we are powerful and loving, and together we are creating a new reality. Her idealism has been honed in the fire of trauma and tragedy; Brittany’s early life included homelessness, all forms of abuse, addiction, and mental illness. Yet, throughout it all, she developed her own personal power and sought a path of ancient spiritual truth.
